MARTINE JANSEN
PAINTING
Abstract painting from the Vibia series, showing layered soft tones and floating color fields

"I am sensitive to impressions in my surroundings. For example, the colors of morning light can be very inspiring. There are so many nuances in the light.

I find that very moving."

Minimal abstract works by Martine Jansen, where graphic structure, line, and layered color meet in balanced, contemplative co

"For my graphic drawings, I use pastel crayons. The soft texture of this material slows down the process. I apply layer upon layer, grind the chalk and blend the colors with a brush. It is a technique that has become my own and allows me to work both soft and hard in my compositions."
